about
i'm currently a phd candidate in biochemistry specializing in bioinformatics in london, canada. i mainly work with state of the art long-read dna sequencing technologies, developing computational tools to solve biological problems
current projects
education
phd (biochemistry) - in progress, western university, canada
msc (biochemistry), western university, canada
bsc (biomedical science), university of ottawa, canada
open source software
gerenuq - quickly filter long read alignments by query coverage. useful to remove mis-mapped reads in small eukaryotic genome and metagenome assembly polishing pipelines.
omicplotR - an R shiny package to visualize datasets as compositions. useful to explore sequencing count data using compositionally valid statistical methods.
q2-aldex2 - implemented ALDEx2 R package in qiime2 environment.
